There is no reason to rush here as we wander lanes and avenues. Birdsong and the cry of land-seagulls provide a backdrop.&nbsp; We say hello to other dog-walkers and stroll back along the main street.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"DogWalkThursday\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VhHuV43L8ZM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Breakfast bacon rolls. The place originally banned dogs, but was in danger of going out of business. The community considered it mean- spirited, and came back when they changed the policy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/juliangamble.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/BreakfastDog.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2016\" height=\"1512\" src=\"https:\/\/juliangamble.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/BreakfastDog.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1035\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Walk back &#8211; I see sales of window-daffodil-bulbs for Mother\u2019s Day.&nbsp;Whilst this would be amazing at home, it seems strange here, where daffodils grow wild like daisies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/juliangamble.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/DaffodilsForMothersDay.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2016\" height=\"1512\" src=\"https:\/\/juliangamble.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/DaffodilsForMothersDay.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1058\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We pass a community theatre down the road from Dad&#8217;s place.&nbsp;It looks like there is lots on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/juliangamble.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/CommunityTheatre.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2016\" height=\"1512\" src=\"https:\/\/juliangamble.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/CommunityTheatre.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1036\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We pass the time talking about home projects, and Dad describes mechanism he has built to wind kite handles for his kids kits business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/juliangamble.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/KiteHandleMechanism-1.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2016\" height=\"1512\" src=\"https:\/\/juliangamble.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/KiteHandleMechanism-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1041\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As we walk to lunch people ask about the dog. It is the key to relationship here.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Blooming Cherry tree celebrates the spring.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/juliangamble.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/CherryTree.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2016\" height=\"1512\" src=\"https:\/\/juliangamble.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/CherryTree.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1037\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the afternoon we Dad about another community project Dad is part of  &#8211; organising a hat festival. It seems that everyone does their bit here to build a sense of community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I stroll through second hand book shops. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hyacinths mark the entrance to a Garden Chapel.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/juliangamble.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/GardenChapel.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1312\" height=\"1334\" src=\"https:\/\/juliangamble.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/GardenChapel.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1038\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Dinner with more friends from the street.
